Well hello there.

Hi, I'm afraid that I have neglected this Blog lately, as we've had a number of funerals, and a few friends that are really sick. But I promise to try and get back to it.

Right a little bit of good news for once. To anybody that is in South Wales, and enjoys a good pint, and a good meal. The "Railway Inn," in Nelson, has reopened under new ownership. We have used this pub on numerous occasions over the past 15 years or so, and it has had a chequered past. We first called in there by chance, when driving around on a weekend. At that time it was kept by a nice family, (can't recall the names though, except to say there were twin blonde daughters, really beauties too), and one had to have a pint and stand by the bar while waiting for a seat to eat. It was heaving, all the local office workers didning there, a cab;le company workers having meetings there, it was hectic. Then the family moved on to another pub, and Jim, his wife and two sons, Adam, and James, moved in. Food prices immediately rose, (but not the quality of it), and diners started finding other places to eat. As the crowd dwindled, the prices rose, making the people that were eating there, pay for the ones that weren't. The customers became less, and less, until finally, last year, (around March?), Jim had to call it a day, and close the pub. Anyway, due to the recession, and work commitments, we didn't go there until yesterday, Saturday 26/04/2014. What a surprise. The pub is cleaner, warmer, (I didn't realise there was any heating in this pub, having not felt it for all the that time, lol), and friendly. The manu is not a big one, but the rump steak was beatufully cooked, and really tasty with no waste at all. Now my other half loves peppercorn sauce with her steak, where ever we dine. She has always said the The Railway Inn has the nicest peppercorn sauce in S. Wales. You can believe her about this too, as she has tried almost every pub in S. Wales. Well, now under a new team, Adrian and Gill, the pub has upped its game. Bringing in beatiful meat, (local butcher), and a peppercorn sauce, that is even nicer that the sauce served in the Railway, prior to Gill and Adrian taking over. Do yourselves a favour and try the Railway Inn at Nelson, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Went up the Bwlch in Treherbert last week to see if I could take some pics of lambs. I found one with its mother wandering around, so I walked slowly, quietly up to them.

But the young lamb was as interested in me, as I was in them, as you can see in the pic above, the youngster was looking at me, and walked over. I didn't move, but just carried on taking pics.

The young lamb stopped and had a good look at me, and my Samsung Galxy NX camera, as you can see above. Then after a few minutes, the lamb must have decided it liked my camera, as it walked over to a rock just in front of me, climbed up on it and posed. I could not have asked for a better shot if the lamb had been a trained animal.

While I was doing this, my wife was in our car about 40 yards away, and she took a photo of me, taking a photo of the lamb. The photo she took is not very good, as it is not zoomed in, so it is in widescreen, and it is as I was taking the second photo above, before the lamb obligingly got up on the rock. I don't know if you can make it out, but I;ve put a yellow arrow pointing to the rock that the lamb got on just after my wife took this snap.

Below is a very ropey 100%crop of the original cell phone image above. Now you can see the yellow arrow and the rock. Sorry about the IQ, but my dear other half, is no photographer. ;-)

Wel that's all for now folks. I hope to be doing a lot of photography very soon. Stop by and have a look.

Take care everybody. Hwyl fawr i pb chi. Twm.
